I really have this obsession with Vanitha (a malayalam magazine) and the recipes printed in it. Most of them are straightforward and quite easy to dish up. So when I saw this easy looking dessert called Caramel Banana, I had to try it out asap!
Ingredients
1/2 kg ripe plantain (sliced not too thinly)
4 teaspoon sugar
8 tablespoon water
For the caramel
4 tablespoon sugar
1 1/4 cup water
2 tablespoon ghee
How To Make Caramel Banana
Heat the sugar for caramel in a thick bottomed pan and keep stirring till it turns brown in colour. Remove from heat, add water and stir till the sugar dissolves. Return to the stove and stir until the caramel thickens. Keep aside.
In the same pan, boil plantain, sugar, water and ghee together. Once its boiled and most of the water has evaporated, pour in the caramel syrup and mix well. Serve this caramel banana hot and enjoy!
