I love Donna Hay! Her recipes are all easy to try out and what’s more they taste great. So when I decided to try panna cotta for the first time, I turned to her Honey Buttermilk Panna Cotta 🙂
Ingredients
1 teaspoon gelatin
2 tablespoon water
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup cream
½ cup icing sugar
1 vanilla bean (split and seeds scraped out)
1 tablespoon honey
How To Make Honey Buttermilk Panna Cotta
Place the gelatin and water in a bowl and stir to combine. Keep aside till the gelatin blooms or gets absorbed. Place the buttermilk, cream, sugar and vanilla bean along with the vanilla been seeds in a saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar gets dissolved.
Add the gelatin and cook until the gelatin is dissolved (while stirring all the time). Strain and allow to cool completely. Place 1 teaspoon of honey in the serving cups/glasses. Pour the cream mixture and refrigerate for 2 hours or until set. And delicious Honey Buttermilk Panna Cotta is now ready to be served. And it was yum!

any idea that in case of using agar-agar what is the measurement?
Vimala, I believe you can substitute equal quantity since thts what my vegetarian baker friend does….
and will the cream not curdle when boiled along with buttermilk?
No since you will be stirring it continuously and the heat will be turned to medium 🙂
I am trying this today!!
Dont forget to let me know how it turned out Anne!
