Ingredients
250 gm chicken (boneless)
1 onion (chopped)
2 tomatoes (chopped)
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
½ teaspoon cumin powder
½ teaspoon coriander powder
¼ cup milk
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt to taste
6-8 tablespoon oil
Marinade for Tikkas
6 tablespoon yoghurt
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic paste
2 tablespoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
4-5 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt to taste
How To
Clean and cut the chicken into small pieces. Drain excess water.
Mix the ingredients for marinade. Add chicken pieces to this marinade and mix thoroughly. Set aside for 1 hour.
Heat 4-5 tablespoon oil in a thick bottomed skillet. Fry the chicken on medium flame till browned. Keep turning the sides to ensure the chicken pieces are roasted evenly. Remove and set aside.
Heat remaining oil in another pan. Add ginger and garlic paste and fry for a minute. Add onions and fry till golden brown. Now add chopped tomatoes and fry on medium heat until the oil separates. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and sugar and mix thoroughly. Add the chicken tikka pieces and cook on low flame for 5 minutes. Gradually add the milk while stirring continuously. Remove from fire once the gravy reaches the desired consistency. Serve this chicken tikka masala hot with rotis/rice.
