This simple Unniappam recipe makes it easy to prepare this delicious snack.
Ingredients
1 cup fine rice flour
1 cup water
½ cup coconut (finely chopped and fried)
½ cup ripe bananas (mashed)
½ cup molasses/jaggery (grated)
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon sugar
How To
Put jaggery and 1 cup water in a thick bottomed pan and cook to make a thick syrup. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with this thick syrup to form a soft, thick batter. Drop spoonfuls of this batter into hot oil and deep fry till golden brown. Alternatively, you can fry these in an unniappam pan to get that perfect shape.

uniappams look so yummy…so r u trying to say v can fry these in frying pan..coz i dont ve uniappam pan…cant wait to try these….
Even I dont hav the traditional unniyappam pan….So I put spoonfuls of the batter in hot oil and deep fry them…Tastes equally good, only issue is that you wont get the perfect shape!!!
