Ingredients
½ litre buttermilk
3 button onions (sliced)
1 teaspoon ginger (chopped)
4 green chillies (slit)
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
A few curry leaves
¼ teaspoon mustard seeds
¼ teaspoon fenugreek seeds
Salt
2 teaspoon coconut oil
How To
Heat the oil in a pan and splutter mustard & fenugreek seeds. Add onion, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Pour in the buttermilk and stir continuously until steam rises from the spatula. Remove from fire. Serve this moru kachiyathu with some red rice and red fish curry.
Notes: The trick to the perfect moru kachiyathu is to stir continuously until the pan is removed from fire.
